Quake 10 Year is more than just a re-texturing project. With a series of scope mile stones, the project lasts as long as it needs to. Quake 10 Year is run by Kedhrin Gonzalez (Veteran Mod Community Member) . Working full time as a professional game developer, this is his spare time project.
Quake 10 Year development is slow and painful. You could call it Quake 10 Year, 11 Year, 12 Year, etc. The name of the project is not based on when it will be released. The project is inspired by Quake and Kedhrin's past with Quake. To celebrate Quake turning 10 Years old Kedhrin begun this project.
The project is aimed in stages (though their order may jump around).

Quake 10 Year uses the DarkPlaces engine. DarkPlaces is hands down the most advanced Quake engine available. The project landed easily with LordHavoc (Author, DarkPlaces - various other works include Nexuiz and Nehahra)

FAQ:
Q: Faithfulness?
A: This is what is most asked about the project. Know this:
Quake 10 Year is not 100% Faithful. In terms of faithfulness, Quake 10 Year aims at about an 80%. While respecting the work of id Software, there needs to be some personal creativity involved for it to truly be someones project. Quake 10 Year will still be in the same environment style, mythos and immersion qualities of the original Quake. However, expect to see a lot of new things and experience Quake through the eyes of Kedhrin Gonzalez.
Q: System Requirements?
A: While Quake 10 Year will try to scale down to as low as it can go, this is not a commercial project. There is no favorites, and leaving old machines behind is not done with intent. Quake 10 Year aims to push the envelopes of the Quake engine in it's later stages.
Q: Release Date?
A: When it's done.
Q: Sneak Peak?
A: Hopefully a new map and release will be out in a few months.
Q: Competition?
A: Quake 10 Year aims to not compete with any mods out there. It is not intended as an 'i'm beter than you' project. Quake 10 Year will aim to please it's audience, and not step on the toes of others.
